The Illusory “I” or Who Am I?
Letting Go of What We Know
Do you ever wonder about who you really are, that is, behind the beliefs you now hold? We laugh at who some people take themselves to be, whether overly powerful, like the globalists, or completely powerless like some who have just given up. Does the truth lie in the middle?
Most of us know we’ve been seriously lied to & misled concerning just about everything — well, okay, everything — so what about who we take ourselves to be? What are the lies around that? Can we ditch 98% of what we believe & be closer to the truth?
Yes.
So, how do we do that? It sounds too weird, right? Letting go is the best answer to most things, the best way to get around most of our programming. We bought into so many things, yet our life doesn’t depend on them being right. It all just is what it is, & our opinions around it aren’t worth much.
Our letting go begins to open us up to what it really is. Now we see how what we (think we) know is our main stumbling block. Most of us don’t know what it’s like to be really open; we’re so very full of what we think we know.
It’s easy enough to see that it’s the ego, the mind that takes itself to be so knowledgeable, but what is the ego? For most, it’s who we take ourselves to be, the one that knows so much. We identify with that, just as we’re schooled to do.
But we can step back, withdraw from being totally mind-centric & find our way into neutrality, or even into Heart. We have free will which includes the ability to examine other perspectives. In that moment when we admit that perhaps there’s room for improvement in all we think we know, a heavy chain breaks. We’re a little less captive, now. 🚪
We can’t examine something we’re in the midst of, something that might have us locked down. We just can’t know until we get some distance from what we’d like to examine. Right now, that would be the mind which holds most of us enthralled, captive to its current perspectives, locked into its programming.
They called it education, but once we’re free of the mind’s grasp we begin to see how we were programmed under the guise of being educated. Yes, it’s pretty sad, but we’ll quickly get over that after the first few difficult steps. It’s great to go free, truly free for perhaps the first time since early childhood.
Side note: Isn’t it strange that, though we’re assigned individual names, when speaking of the self, we all call ourselves, “I?” That’s a good bit deeper than it seems at first. 😉
We are most definitely not who we take ourselves to be. We’ve all taken on roles in the play, the earth drama, but what’s underneath who we think we are/take ourselves to be? Could we wend our way into Source by going deeper within?
Some have done so, & what man has done, man can do — & please don’t let your mind trigger you on the gender thing. It just is what it is, & all the nonsense currently woven around it will soon melt like new-fallen snow under the warm sun of awakening. We’ll begin to see all such games as mental manipulations with nothing real at their core; just ways to pit us against one another.
We let ourselves become the Nazi language police.
We can also just let that go & remember how to enjoy ourselves.

“If you had one goal, and that was to feel good, you would never again need to hear another word from anyone. You would live successfully and happily and in a way of fulfilling your life’s purpose ever after.”

The awakening ones become un-offendable. Just imagine that! Really, take a moment & contemplate what it would be like if no one & nothing could offend you. Do you sense the great freedom in that? There’s also a great Respect there, both for the self & your ideas, but also for everyone else & their ideas; a live-and-let-live thing.
Source in (& as) you cannot be offended, not even when others try really hard to be offensive. Being offended partakes of both arrogance — our ideas are “right” — & fear — what would happen if I was “wrong?” All of that is mental gamesmanship — can you see it?
“Right” & “wrong” are just concepts, totally dependent on our perspective. We know that what seems wrong to one seems right to others; we see evidence of it every day. The mind tends to forget it exists in the realm of relativity where the only true constant is change. That frightens the mind so it gets defensive, shutting down to what it doesn’t want to view.
That’s why it’s a thankless & fruitless task to use the mind to try to evaluate the mind, whether ours or another’s. We must exit the jail cell before we can fully see the jail cell, how it fits into the block of cells, the floor, the building, etc.
A bit of distance is required along with a wiser guide than any mind. We find our way into Heart where everything is flipped, where the mind’s vision doesn’t hold sway. We only pretend to be the body-mind, friend; we are so very much more!
Does it seem strange to you that, to get to the more, we must go through the less?
Waking up is very much a walk of letting go, which is why stepping out from under the mind’s dominance is so very refreshing, so freeing. It seems a bit frightening, but as we pause to look deeper, we see it’s only the mind that’s frightened by any of this, so we walk on.
You’ll soon see why there’s no point in trying to examine our true identity via the mind. It just doesn’t work, & it can’t — but there’s no way to explain that to the poor mind, so again, we just walk on.
We discover, bit by bit, how we’ve created something false & unreal: our self-concept. Who we (mentally) take ourselves to be doesn’t even exist. Yet, because we’re actually Source, here in form, we have sufficient power of creation to fool ourselves & most others who are also living in The Matrix, so the game goes on.
Though we can step out of the mind-hack game whenever we like, first we’ve got to find the “we” in that. “Whenever I like” is meaningless if the “I” is the ego-mind, the very one we seek to move beyond. It’s a bit like asking the jailor to give us the key. We can ask all we like, we’re just not likely to go free that way.
Are you letting go, yet? Is it a strange idea, that you can let go of your identity, of who/what you took yourself to actually be? Heart is the great refuge, now, the portal to Clarity. Heart is not dependent on the mind the way we’ve been made (programmed) to be.
Our mind thinks quite a lot of itself. It thinks it has the answers & further, that its answers are the “right” ones, oh, yes. We don’t fully see that such that we can laugh at it until we’re out of the jail cell our mind has turned out to be; not the mind, itself, just its programmed belief systems which create its attitudes & expectations.
From within Heart, we begin to see the web that’s woven around who we took ourselves to be, the ego-mind identity. It’s very much like a part in a play, very controlled & we want to fly free.
So wait — what “we” is that who “wants to fly free?” That’s not likely any part of the self-satisfied mind, is it? Could that be our true Being, our deeper, inner identity speaking? On this journey, we learn to go by the feel of things, to read the energy underlying them.
We’re opening to deeper senses than the 5 of the body-mind vehicle. We have them, even though it was no part of our “education.” For instance, we are all telepathic — that’s right, 100% of us.
Yet, who uses the tool s/he doesn’t know s/he has?
This points to the critical need to step away from the mind. This deeper Clarity doesn’t reside there. We begin to awaken to the senses of Heart, if you will, but no words fully cover the bases of Heart. Our words are relative, just like all else in 3D. Heart is both within & beyond that. It’s not something any mind can comprehend, so we learn to let go & walk on.
Who are you? What are you? No one can tell you that, it’s something we all find out in our own, unique way. Words like “Source-in-form” are useful, yet don’t begin to paint the full picture. They’re but a flashlight lighting our way. Words & language fall from their high perch of respectability & competence to become just another tool in our infinite toolbox.
No matter what we discover, we’re always more & much more than that.
We contain it, whatever it is that’s coming to light. Yet this “we” that we are is nothing we believe it to be. 😲 It’s rather funny, but it’s because we’re so Powerful that we can create & step into such strong delusion.
Nor is there anything we must go & become, develop into, learn, or grow up to be. All of that partakes of a misunderstanding of time which, like the “I,” is nothing like what we believe it is. In the perpetual NowHere, all that was, is, & could ever be just IS — Now, Here, centered on the cross of time/space.
What separates us from any of it has more to do with frequency, with vibration than with anything outside of the Self, be it distant via time or via space.
Being aware that every coin has 2 sides, that’s the inner side we’ve been discussing which doesn’t obviate the outer, seemingly separate side. Because we live in such a programmed world & a programmed state, it’s a journey on which we’re embarked. Eternity would be pretty boring if everything was already worked out to perfection, done & complete, yes?
The first part of our journey isn’t to fully be the divine Being at our core, but rather to begin, like the snake shedding its skin, like the flutterby escaping its cocoon. Too much awakening at once can be shattering, so it mercifully proceeds at the best pace — for us.
We can still see that the first part of this awakening journey is full of every sort of letting go. It doesn’t mean that the things, people, & relationships we release will walk away from us — though they might. What it does mean is that we release our grip, our addiction, our fear of letting them go.
We find our way into a neutral position, far more Balanced that anything we’ve yet known. We’re less often understood by others — others still fully in The Matrix. We connect almost instantly with others who are also more in Heart than in their head.
Abraham-Hicks Daily Quote — 2017/12/14
“As you are in your physical body, with Source flowing to you and through you, you are continuing your eternal life. And even when you don’t know it, even when you feel bad, even when it feels like things aren’t going well, Source Energy is still flowing to you as unconditional love. The Source Energy that creates worlds is flowing to you.”

Or, as Byron Katie puts it:
“Everything happens for you, not to you.”
We’re understood on deeper levels, just as we’re understanding everything on deeper layers, ourselves. It’s a real shock to find there’s nothing we must become — that all that’s important & worthwhile we already are. It’s just a matter of getting out of our own way.
Our biggest hindrance & blockage is? It’s what we already know. 😆 ROFL 😝 💥 LOL 🗽 😲 🎆 😆
You’re already at least partway beyond your mind if you can have a good laugh on yourself. The mind can’t do this. Let’s retake our independence, friends, our freedom from this nasty Matrix. We once didn’t see it. Then we did, & we thought it was never-ending, insurmountable… Now, we can see that as our mind’s response to our discoveries.
We go free.
We’re no more limited by the mind than a bumblebee is by the physics that says it cannot fly, not with those wings & that big body. We just laugh at such things, knowing them for the playful games played on & by the mind.
Just because we have a mind doesn’t mean we’re limited to that.
