Some good writing, here — & a deep topic. You made some insightful points, uniting divergent threads. I laughed at how the rich wanted to leave their wealth to their future selves — but of course, lol. The funding issues made pretty good sense. Crazy stuff, but it works. At so many spots it makes you go hmm.

Perhaps the best part was weaving it around the almost romance, though — really carried it through.

Got an idea to share — what if the brain, along with the nervous system, is more of a receiver/transmitter than any sort of storage device? Are you aware of the Native American scouts from WWII? Upon receiving the obligatory crew cut, suddenly their tracking ability was gone — poof!

After trials & experimentation, the solution was to issue them haircut waivers — quite a big deal to the military. So that tells us that it’s more than possible that hair acts as antennae — something needed by what? Perhaps a sending/receiving station? It may well be that our DNA is the storage device, after all.
