Peeking Past Deconstruction
Releasing the self
In the future, things greatly changed — values, morays, science, understandings, etc. Future people look back on our time & judge us by their values, which doesn’t make sense any more than us judging earlier people by current values. (Reparations? Really??)
We look back on a prior age & judge them based on our current values & understandings — but what sense does that make? Is it fair? Our values may have been born of that earlier time, but they didn’t exist back then. It’s many cases of 20/20 hindsight illumining us about better, safer, fairer ways to handle things.
Because of what they went through, we’ve grown; we benefitted.
Rather than judge & condemn them for not having our current values & understandings, we can choose to celebrate their many challenges out of which our values were born. Yes, we can be grateful they went through that. We are the beneficiaries.
Maybe things are meant to work this way. Our gain is far greater when we err on the side of that gratitude rather than the judgment of our forebears for their behavior. What we focus on grows, be it gratitude or condemnation, creating more of the same.
Humanity has been thoroughly bamboozled about not just many things but most things. I’d guess that more than 90% of what we believe is nonsense installed & programmed in by those running the show from behind the scenes — for their benefit. It’s time to wake up.
Yesterday’s scientific constants are today’s variables, as most of us know; but do we pay that any attention? There’s much to gain when we do. We can quit relying on textbooks & our minds to run the show. There are better ways.
How is the deconstruction project coming along for you?
Are you witnessing aspects & elements of what you once believed fall away, to be replaced by… nothing… by emptiness? Those who have encountered emptiness know what is meant; know how very strange it seems, at first.
The false self, the ego or ego-mind has to go for awakening to occur. We can’t have both at the same time. Even our very definitions of words are highly suspect. By “awakening” we don’t mean the encountering of something new, something outside of the self.
What we’re awakening to & into is far older than anything we encounter on planet earth.
When we say “I” or “me,” we’re also deceived; deeply. What we take to be the self, our very identity, is highly suspect, is worthy of great suspicion. We are not that. Until we see the truth of this, we wander around lost & unaware.
More fullness is not the answer. It will not help, but will only take us away from our desired goal, our completion, our recognition & experience of Self as Source-in-form. There is nothing we require, nothing we need to gain. In the emptiness, we see that we ARE what we seek but our fullness is in the way. We must let it go.
Somehow, in some ridiculous way, we lost ourselves. We forgot who we are. Then, as we went through the heavy-duty programming encountered on planet earth, we developed & identified with what amounts to a false self.
There’s no sense trying to push ourselves forward into “awakening” until we’re ready & willing to release that phony identity. The false self cannot awaken anymore than the mind can. That’s not how this works.
So what do we do?
We’re releasing doing in the name of being. What we want already exists but all of our doing gets in the way of our being Who we truly are, of allowing that flow. As Byron Katie so wisely says, “Life happens for you, not to you.” We’ll watch so many of our attitudes morph & shift into we know not what.
Oh, & we’ll have a great deal of fun along the way. Yes, there will be challenges, there will be uncomfortable spots. We’ll learn to see more deeply into them, to witness the blessings they bring, those blessings once hidden by our negative view & emotions, those blessings once rejected by the false self.
Let us learn to relax into Deconstruction Mode, to just let it be, offering a welcome to the emptiness it includes. Since it does no good to try to figure any of this out, we can take a break from being lost in endless thought. Instead, we can focus on enjoying what is, enjoying the endless gifts of the NowHere — trusting Source to “deliver the goods,” to take us in. 😆

PS Pain & suffering are experienced by the false self, not You. We can step back to observe & let them go.
