Hmm — interesting, yet also a bit bothersome. When we choose to define the self strictly in terms of biology & mentality, I see that as dangerous grounds. While you can design & create beautiful simulations with the ability to interact & look almost human, what do you have, there? Something hugely mechanistic, certainly — but lacking what?

What if the entire brain & nervous system act more as a transceiver — a transmitter-receiver — than the origin or storage site of anything? Let’s not forget the Army’s experience in WWII with Native American (NA) scouts, great trackers who enlisted. After the mandatory crew cut, they could no longer track.

After the necessary research & experimentation, the result was the issuance of hair-cut waivers for all NA scouts. It seems that the hair could act as the antennae for the transceiver, doesn’t it? At least, it’s a strong possibility.

I won’t go any further with this, as it’s but one of many deep rabbit holes that lead to a completely different perspective on or interpretation of reality, quite beyond anything mechanistic. Just wanted to present the possibility that the foundation under this use of AI, the planned potential uses for it, may be pretty far off base.

The mechanistic approach to all of life & Cosmos currently adopted by science is not necessarily as accurate as they believe it to be. By quite excising spirit, consciousness, soul — call it what you will — from the picture, what is left is a huge, gaping hole. Do we really want to place all of our bets on anything it generates?

The proof is in the pudding, as they say, so time will tell. However, before spending the enormous amounts of money involved, here, it might be wise to go down a few rabbit holes, just to see what arises — what you find 😉
