Great article, Alex — thanks! I, too, come to this sort of state, but it’s alightly different. Yes, there’s a sort of emptiness, but also very much a withdrawal of all interest in anything on the computer. Simply nothing calls me — so for me, the call is to leave all the tech & go rest, just being there with & for myself — to tune-in to what’s trying to speak, within.

Sometimes, there’s a real sense of misery — a deep discomfort — about which mind is quite clueless, no why being there. I’ve learned that if I just stay with it — being willing to feel whatever it is, that’s best. Most of us don’t have a very good relationship with the self. We’re great friends, parents, employees & so on, but we don’t think of befriending the self.

Just willing to “be there” for me has been the secret. So very often, I’ll awaken the next day feeling marvelous — with no idea what it was all about. Mind doesn’t need to take part in this, for it’s often at a deeper level, the Inner Being, that wants to be acknowledged. We’re worth it! We’re worth being there for & with the self, absent all the business, the distractions, the tech involvement.

One last thing — when I go to lay down I always have notebook & pen nearby. I even sleep with them on the bed. Sometimes our best creativity comes at odd times, & it’s coming from that deeper space — not mind — so mind won’t be able to remember, later on.

Anyway, great read 😃 It’s a rare voice who speaks out on this.
