Chasing wealth for its own sake is both a trap & a downward spiral. We discover that there is never enough. “Absolute power corrupts absolutely,” may also be true of wealth.

When we look into the eyes of native children living in what the West considers poverty, there is a glow there that invalidates our beliefs. We find more happiness & simple contentment there than in the eyes of the terribly rich.

What do we want? What do we really want? As we feel into that — hopefully, often — we’ll do better about staying on course. It doesn’t matter what the world wants, what others think we should want. Going along to get along is poverty of the highest order.
